    Beachcomber Island Resort

    Beachcomber Island Resort

The party island for sure. Surprisingly the snorkling is pretty good, and the food is okay. The island is a meat market.

    Art Series - The Olsen

    Art Series - The Olsen

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    4 reviews

I haven’t seen many hotels named after artists, but the Olsen is a standout not just for its location and quality, but for the pronounced influence that Australian institution John Olsen has in every corner of the building. While the man is perhaps best known for his landscape work, the artwork adorning the hotel’s walls is curiously focused on the ...

Excellent hotel and not overly priced either. I stayed there in February 2012 for 2 nights and had very good service, and considering I was on crutches, the staff looked after me well.

    InterContinental Thalasso-Spa Bora Bora

    InterContinental Thalasso-Spa Bora Bora

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    4 reviews

It's a very nice hotel, but too modern for my taste. When I'm on Bora Bora, I want to feel that Polynesian spirit with a French influence, not like i'm inside of a hip NYC nightclub or MOMA. Plus the included dinners means you are eating all of your meals at the resort, and the dining is.. eh.

    Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns

    Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns

    Hotel Class:
    4
    4 reviews

I am really fond of Shangri-La Hotels and their branches around the world. Not that I partake of all the amenities that they have to offer. I go to a city to experience the city, and as much as I would love to check out everything this Shang had to offer, my time was short and the city beckoned to ...

Love the name of the hotel! Great location in the city and it's a close walk to Darling Harbour. The rooms are nice and clean. We had free breakfast buffet that came with the room, so you might want to call the hotel to see if breakfast buffet is included with the room. Great service and staff! If you want ...

    The Menzies Sydney

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    6 reviews

Very nice motel. Stayed in Room 215 in the north wing which was comfortable and quite. Very central location with Wynyard Station just across the road. Had the buffet breakfast at the motel one morning which was a little pricey (we are members of the Accor Club which means 1/2 price meals and kids eat free).

    The Westin Resort Guam

    The Westin Resort Guam

    3.5
    5 reviews

The Westin Resort Guam is on Tumon Bay right on the beach, along hotel row with several other resort hotels here in the tropical island of Guam, in the Northern Marianas, about 3,500 miles west of Honolulu. Guam has been a sleepy island on the other side of the international dateline since world war two, with an economy mostly fueled ...

    Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa

    Hotel Class:

If only I could afford my taste. The Sofitel is heavenly. I spent one night there at the end of a press trip, but I loved it. The accommodations were so spectacular that I came back for a hot stone massage after I moved to a less expensive lodging. The Spa is first rate too.

    Emporium Hotel

    Emporium Hotel

    5
    3 reviews

The Emporium Hotel is just sensational! It doesn't have a restaurant like typical hotels, but the menu and service is in a league of its own. In a restaurants place, it has a wine bar, with a selection so extensive that you will never be "settling" for a wine. The staff are highly attentive, but intuitive, they know when to ...

    Art Series - The Cullen

Another entry in Melbourne’s “Art Series,” hotels, the Cullen has a pronounced presence in the surrounding Prahran area. The Art Series hotels, intended to fuse an artist’s aesthetics with the decor of a hotel, already has an installation in Prahran (The Olsen) but the Cullen is its own creation. Hyatt Regency Guam

    Hyatt Regency Guam

    Hotel Class:

After hearing so many negative stories about Guam, I was positively surprised by the Hyatt and the beach in Tumon. The Hyatt is an older building (like most of the hotels in Guam) but has done a good job of refurbishing the lobby and rooms. We found the lobby and room quality to be in line with some of he ...
