    Depot

Get here quick. Lines fill up especially since this is next door to SKYCITY. Seats can be a little hard but that's not why you're here. Enjoy the conversations, the noise and everything - as downtown as Auckland gets.

I've been here a few times when I'm after some Thai food in the city, central location in Melbourne, amazing food and a really nice atmosphere. Even when we have not been able to get into the restaurant area we have sat in the bar area which can be a bit to crowded but worth it. I really like the ...

    Ernesto

With photos of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara covering the walls of this Cuba Street cafe you don't have to see this place to guess the theme. The only revolution they have in mind here is just good coffee to the common people. They have the best Egg's Benny on Cuba and that's a big call.

    Golden Monkey

    2 reviews

Golden Monkey is a really cool cocktail bar located on Lonsdale Street. Drinks can be rather expensive, but the atmosphere is great. They usually have a band on Thursday night, which compliments the great ambiance. The bar area is somewhat small and can get crowded early on their busy nights, however you can reserve a table a head of time. ...

    Memphis Belle Coffee House

    4.5
    4 reviews

Best coffee in Wellington. Memphis Belle is a hip little cafe on Dixon St, where local coffee officiados go to get their fix. In addition to making great espresso, they offer a range of coffee types and a variety of brewing options (e.g. syphon, chemex, cold drip). The barristas are knowledgeable and friendly, and the food is decent.

Awesome pub lunch! A bit more pricey than your average pub, but it's good and it's in Freo so you expect that! :) about a million of their own beers on tap also!

A very hip cafe with three distinct rooms. Great food and coffee with a lot of options for communal eating and people watching. Always full but the wait has never been over 15 mins for me.

    Trader Jack's

A varied menu, we ordered pizza from the bar, and it was good. The reason to go though is for drinks on the water at the downstairs bar. It is outside and takes a wonderful seabreeze, and there is often chill live music and a good crowd.

    Opera Bar

Yes, it's overpriced, and yes, it attracts a wanky and pretentious crowd, but for a sundown drink or light meal on the harbour, you can't do much better than this bar on the lower-level concourse below the famous Opera House. Fabulous views.

I haven't been here, because it is too difficult to get into! Writing a review to point out if you want to go to this trendy Mexican restaurant they don't take bookings, so queue up early - I think from 5.30pm is the tip. Otherwise expect to wait. But I hear it is worth it.

Nice spot to hang out, as there is a great view down the valley, and a great stone seating area out behind the resturant. The place feels like a castle, and like everywhere on the island, has great wine.

    Toff in Town

Toff is an up market trendy Melbourne bar. The carriage booths are a real drawcard, if you can secure one. Fun if you want to dress up and play beautiful people. A laid back vibe it is not!
