I use to go here at least twice a month for a year in 2010 :)

I'm not sure how it is right now, but I'm guessing price for cover went up.

Parking: I always park on the street parallel to avalon near pantages because it's usually cheaper.

Bathroom: Second floor bathroom is cleaner and shorter line. If you're waiting in line outside and have to pee, there's a bar in a nice hotel next door (?) (just walk right in). Or go to Trader Joe's...which is a bit of a walk.

    Alcohol: it's a club...never cheap

So much great memories with friends, amazing DJs and random people you'll be bff with then forget what they look like the next day. Ah...and those 40yr old asian creepers with their 'avalon dance' - hands on each others shoulder twisting left and right with dark glasses on - (someone PLEASE explain to me why I see tons of those in there!). If they touch u, don't hesitate to slap them! They're usually too f'd up to fight back.

Bonus: dirty dogs are cooking outside when it's time to leave the club

I honestly don't know how people could party there til 6am...I think my record was 4;30-5am but I was clinging onto friends while i napped on them around 3:30am.

I also came here for A Perfect Circle(3 nights in a row thanks to my friend!!! woooo)! The atmosphere was WAY different. More non asians, I could see the ceiling and it reeked of pot lol

I'm giving them 4stars because of all the fun memories I've had with so many people.

-1star for the creepers and they sometimes close off the 1st floor when there are too many peeps

Wow. I feel like I've been on the wash cycle for a while just sitting in their loung seats. The reverberation from the music is just crazy. I love bass as much as the next person, but damn....

This venue has been used for so many different events.
From late night raves to teeney bopper concerts!

a three story venue with an outdoor patio that is rarely to be used. The interior of the space gives you a phantom of the opera type aura being that its probably been beaten up a bit from being used so much!

Parking might be hefty but there is street parking if you get lucky!

Waited 5 hours for the band IM5 to perform and PAID for those tickets all to have the Avalon shut IM5 down after not even one full song. IM5 was on the set list, and the fact that the Avalon didn't give their customers the full set that they paid for upsets me so much. AND it was all due to shitty planning on the Avalon's part. I will NEVER purchase from the venue again, and I sure as hell will make sure that none of my family and friends do either

they got some good headliners every once in awhile. but great venue overall... they stay open later than most places around this area, but stop serving alcohol at the usual 2am.

They host a lot of good concerts here, but I wouldn't come for the clubbing scene or after-hours events. Solid sound system, so you're not distracted by any hiccups w/ technical difficulties during your band's set.

Parking around this area is tricky and expensive, so be prepared for that!

You really can't beat Avalon's lighting set up and speaker volume when it comes to electronic acts. Never mind the old couples who are doing the "washing machine" dance on the dancefloor - they're just enjoying themselves as much as you!
