Another boutique hotel gem on the outskirts of Beverly Hills, the Avalon has cool blue Mid-Century Modern style. A converted apartment building, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez once took up residence here. The poolside cocktail and dining scene is svelte.Recommended for:

This is a great weekend getaway hotel.
it is secluded and has great rooms and amenities.
The pool area is trendy but not in an annoying way and the restaurant and bar are great for celebrity sightings!
I would reccomend to anyone looking for a great location and easy access to Beverly Hills and Hollywood.Recommended for:

My friend hosted a birthday get together on a Saturday night in one of the cabanas at Avalon, and it was awesome! Great drinks and appetizers with music in the background. It wasn't too crowded, and if you're looking to mingle with others, this wouldn't have been your night. But it was great for me just to hang out with my friends. Service was great.Recommended for:

I love the Kelly Wearstler glam decor and although I cannot speak for the rooms, the bar is great and the whole place captures the essence of California Cool, complete with a great pool, cabanas, lots of turquoise and white and just enough pops of gold to keep you from thinking you're in the Caribbean. It's this sort of only-in-LA establishment that makes Los Angeles one of my most favorite places in the world, because where else do you see that particular shade of early-technicolor aqua? This is Kelly Wearstler at her layer-back yet put-together best, mixing Hollywood regency with mid century modern, combined with hints of Miami and peppered with random yet happy accessories and random fun. I love this hotel!
