Best Family Restaurants
By many accounts this is the best pizza in all of Austin and even a viable competitor to East Coast rivals. Head over early or be prepared to fight the crowds for these homemade, hand-tossed New York style thin-crust pies and selection of tasty salads and subs. If your little ones can't handle the wait, grab a pizza to go. Otherwise, you'll find a festive atmosphere with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating and a play area for kids (including ping pong!). Be sure to bring the troops back for their annual Carnival o' Pizza, a ridiculously fun day of pizza-themed entertainment for all ages!

Imagine your favorite Manhattan cafe -- fresh roasted beans, deliciously sticky pastries and a homey yet hip vibe -- then add kids! This magical family-focused Tribeca hotspot is an oasis for parents and children alike, offering a broad daytime menu of nutritious, seasonal snacks and delicious coffee (as well as beer and wine for the adults) in addition to a whole slew of inventive, engaging activities designed to keep the little guys safely entertained. Kick back and indulge your caffeine addiction while your kids lose themselves in the children's book library, one of the many do-it-together art projects, or the cafe's most unique feature, the Funky Forest (a high-tech, interactive art installation where kids learn how their actions impact the environment).

the kids can do (you have to buy the craft-projects, but there is lots of coloring to do for free) and a cool playroom in the back with a virtual creek. There are even people there to help your kids with the crafts, so I recommend it especially for a date with another grownup you actually want to converse with.

This cozy restaurant and watering hole provide a unique atmosphere where both families and sports fans come together to enjoy excellent food and a lively good time. Locals and travelers both will enjoy the wide range of quality, creative homemade fare served up for lunch and dinner. For adults, there's truly a bit of everything -- from their award-winning wings and extravagant burgers to lobster mac n' cheese, pork marsala or even sushi! -- while younger folk will be pleased by the comfortable selections featured on the kids menu. By night, live music and televised games are sure to keep things interesting at the bar.
My favorite place to take the family for dinner. Extensive menu and great atmosphere
Great pizza, atmosphere and beer. Hernando's has been a long-standing tradition in Winter Park since the 60's. Grab a table out back in the summertime, or when temperatures drop enjoy your meal indoors surrounded by a sea of dollar bills dinner guests have decorated and posted to the interior walls -- estimated at close to $20,000! They'll even provide kids with crayons so they can add their own bill to the decor. Just don't delay. Things tend to get busy around here and reservations are not allowed.

When Jimmy Buffet's sister takes the reins, a family-favorite is born. No longer just a small burger grille in a dreamy little harbor, today Lulu's is a true family destination. The bustling complex offers not only the food that made the place famous -- from grass-fed cheeseburgers to Seafood Gumbo -- but also a collection of fun-filled playtime options for adults and children alike, including face painting, volleyball, a large sandy beach, three stories of rope climbing, a full bar and retail store, plus live music daily. And of course, let's not forget about the margarita machine.
This is a MUST when you visit Gulf Shores!! Great food, fun activities for kids, cute gift shop.
"It's worth the wait!" Or if you want to avoid the crowds, get up early and bring your appetite. This Hollywood breakfast mecca serves up immense servings of decadent pancakes and other creative interpretations of your morning favorites along with the occasional celebrity sighting and an LA-style "see-and-be-seen" show to boot. For parents who aren't afraid of taking things over-the-top, this updated take on the diner can be a fun, sugar-coma inducing outing sure to win you points with the kids.

foodie friend Steph Y. brought me here because I've never been. She had the apple pancake and I ordered the chocolate chip french toast. Both our entre's were HUGE but we didn't regret ordering our own. My french toast was pretty sweet so I didn't have to drench it with syrup. The bread was crispy on the outside and the chocolate chips were gooey. Next time I come here I need to order something salty on the side because that was a lot of sugar in my system. I took the leftover french toast home and it tasted like chocolate cake when I ate it cold lol
The last of the old open-air hangouts on the Gulf Coast, Schooners was once a rustic beach bar known as "The Beach Party" back in the 60's when it got its start. Today the lovingly restored bar and restaurant continues to lure crowds with their excellent beachfront location, great views and casual laid-back atmosphere. The "nothing fancy" vibe applies to the menu as much as to the space, with seafood and Southern specialties topping the list of offerings while a broad selection of frozen tropical drinks (along with typical beer and wines) ensures parents have plenty of fun while the kids play in the sand.

Serving up sweet local lobsters and icy oysters or clams on the half shell since 1969, this family-run, no-frills eatery has been raising the bar on casual romantic sunsets and family picnics on Martha's Vineyard for years. Take a seat at one of the makeshift picnic tables or bring your beach chairs (and wine -- since they don't sell it "up island") and dig into freshly caught seafood picked up and cooked to order straight off the boat. Families can always grab food to go if the dockside view of the working boats isn't enough entertainment and your kids instead prefer to eat on the beach.

A trip to Chicago would not be complete without a visit to this fun Greektown landmark. Try the savory saganaki (flaming cheese!), the keftedakia (light, flavorful meatballs simmered in tomato sauce) or any of the honey-laden deserts for a quick trip to a faraway land where jovial old men gather over cups of potent coffee in island tavernas and the word "opa!" is exclaimed with abandon. The somewhat over-the-top decor of this local's favorite is only complimented by the heavy Greek accents emanating from crowd. Diners of all ages are sure to fall hard for the mouthwatering menu of traditional dishes prepared with carefully selected ingredients imported straight from the motherland.

How often do rave-worthy scones, burgers and sushi come up in the same conversation? At Diamond Head Market innovative dishes pulling from a mix of foreign and native cuisine pave the way for an extraordinary yet casual island meal experience. For superb views of the Eiffel tower and a quintessential Parisian experience (cue the French ladies in fur with miniature dogs) this posh pastry house will not disappoint. The 80-year old salon and patisserie still manages to maintain an Old World vibe with Art Deco signage, gilded mirrors and rattan chairs while simultaneously charming patrons with heavenly pastries of both sweet and savory varieties. Come for a cup of coffee and one of their award-winning éclair au chocolat or a sampling of their unbelievably flavorful macaroons -- rose and raspberry or salted butter caramel being just the start! -- and you'll quickly discover why this gem has remained a favorite among both Parisians and visitors for generations.
