the awesome-sounding pancakes, french toast options and scrambles, there were too many options! I finally settled on the Parisienne French Toast which is french toast made from a croissant that comes with a side of bacon or sausage and 2 eggs. The french toast was good, just a little too heavy on the egg for my taste. They get an extra star just for the ambiance. When you walk in, and look around, you would think it was just like any other neighborhood diner based on the decor. However, if you are there when there is someone with a birthday being celebrated, you will soon understand this is not your average breakfast diner. They arrive at the birthday person's table with a loud drum and a bottle of tequila and you can probably guess what happens from there! There is also a lively crowd around the small bar inside, so it definitely seems like a fun place for neighborhood locals to hang out! Be warned, however, that wait times here can be brutal. We had a large group, but we waited over an hour to be seated at peak time on a Sunday, so be prepared for a wait before you get to enjoy your meal and the lively scene around you!

At $10/bowl... you really can't go wrong. It wouldn't be a mistake at $25.

But after eating the real deal in Naples, it's hard to eat substitutes. And then I found Tony's Pizza Napoletana in North Beach. While they serve American-style pizza, why bother when the chef (Tony) is the first non-Neopolitan ever to win the pizzaiolo (pizza chef) award in Naples. Like Italian pizza, don't bother with lots of fancy toppings. To taste the perfectly charred, spongy crust, go with a classic margherita.
