Santa Maria is our favorite beach in the Los Cabos area! It is so very beautiful and is a safe swimming beach for the whole family. One can snorkel near the rocks and explore the sandy little rock 'cubby holes' for sea treasures.

This is a really nice beach right outside of town. It is a protected inlet. The waves are small, there is lots of sand and space to hang out. There are no facilities nearby, though, so bring water and snacks.

Our boat sailed over to the Santa Maria Cove for some snorkeling and it was fun. On a hot and sunny April afternoon, the water was colder than I expected but tolerable. I'm not really good at identifying different types of fish but I was only able to see two different kinds. But what I liked most abut snorkeling here was that the water is somewhat calm so I didn't get sea sick from bobbing around in the water.
