Some friends were in town and staying in MDR, and were not sure where to go. They had walked to Venice and seen this place, so decided to give it a try. Friday night, about 715pm. The parking is sparce, but there is valet. Nice touch. (let them worry about it). Place looks packed, as a lot of people sitting ...

Kids and adults would love walking along the canals, seeing the ducks, peeping into homes and trotting over the bridges. A lovely neighborhood for a sunday morning walk.

Shop on Abbott Kinney, people watch on the boardwalk, take in the sunset. It's free and highly entertaining, but watch your wallet and park wisely.

    Abbot Kinney Blvd

    0.64 mi from Baja Cantina
    48 reviews

In any other city but LA, this charming strip of shops (Gant, Alternative Apparel), boutiques (Me. Steves Beauty Cottage, Aesop), and galleries (G2, Hamilton Press) would be THE STRIP, and celebrated as such. But in LA, the shopping cup truly spilleth over, and Abboy Kinney somehow manages to sneak by as one of the lesser sung hotspots in town. Skip ...

They served their coffee and tea to the guests at the TEDxculvercity event held at the Kirk Douglas Theatre and I must say that they had very delicious brownies. I am not much of a coffee drinker so this review only goes out to the tea and brownies but from what I saw from them, they had excellent service. The ...

    Venice Skate Park

    0.78 mi from Baja Cantina
    7 reviews

The Venice Skate Park is a cool site to check out if you're visiting the Venice Boardwalk. The park can be really crowded on a nice day, so if you want to skate it, you better be pretty good at skating pools. If you're not into skating and just want to watch, this place is also great for spectators. You ...

    Muscle Beach

    0.61 mi from Baja Cantina

The original Muscle Beach was just south of the Santa Monica Pier. When that was closed Venice picked up the name and many of the famous names who worked-out in Santa Monica moved over to Venice. For me, the Venice location is antiseptic, fenced off and rather blah.

Filled with a conglomeration of people engaged in a hodgepodge of activity having minimal redeeming qualities - rather like New Orleans' Bourbon Street but lacking Bourbon Street's fine restaurants, jazz or Mardis Gras celebrations.

This place is at Venice Beach. We rented cruisers to ride along the beach and down to Santa Monica Pier. It was $15 for 3 hours and included a basket for each of our bikes. The lady running the shop was very friendly and helpful and the bikes were in great condition.

More to choose from in a slightly larger inventory than most of the smaller boutiques around here. Still, fairly pricey. The lofty ceilings and brick make you think of an upscale and higher priced "urban outfitters." Worth having a look.

The gals here are super nice and friendly. They've got cool t-shirts with designs you won't find elsewhere and kids sizes also. The thin, designer kind of shirts, with funky pockets and lopsided sleeves. ; ) The prices are about a 8 on a scale of 1-10 but you can find some stuff on sale if you're clever. On First ...
