One of the best beaches in SF bc of its panoramic view of the Golden Gate Bridge. But beware it is a nude beach

The hiking en route to the beach is almost as good as the beach. Almost. Baker Beach is a great spot to draw in the sand, listen to the Pacific, and bask under the glow of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fantastic view and excellent swimming

In addition to sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Pacific Ocean, and the Marin Headlands, many visitors to Baker Beach often get another view; this is San Francisco's nude beach. While you'll see the usual array of joggers and dog walkers, you will also see tai chi in the buff, naturalist picnics, and nude sunbathers. This is San Francisco, after all. A dozen hiking trails go off in all different directions from the beach and the nature reserve area surrounding the parking lots. It's also a great spot to see wildflowers from March to May.

Where else can you lie on the beach, and have a view of the Golden Gate Bridge?

It's a nice beach for relaxing. I've done a lot of shoots here cause this place offers a variety from the view of Golden Gate Bridge to the Battery Chamberlain to the forest. One of my fave places in San Francisco. :)

With great views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Mile Island, and the Marin Headlands - when it's not foggy - Baker Beach is a great place for a run, a romantic picnic, or an afternoon with the kids.

While it is a nude beach and thus may attract some wacky people, the incredible views in every direction can't be beat.

Visiting Baker Beach is truly a San Francisco experience, both for its scenic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the hordes of naked people that cluster there. It's never too crowded, even when the rare perfectly sunny day hits the city, and is easily accesible by both bus and car.

I mean this in the least cheesy way possible, but I try to take long walks on the beach every other week or so. In San Francisco, there's no better spot than Baker Beach. The location (just west of the Golden Gate Bridge, with a stunning view back over the bridge and the Marin Headlands) can't be beat. About 340 days a year, the beach has enough elbow room for dog-walkers and touch football players, but is protected from the elements (unlike Ocean Beach, which faces the Pacific directly and can get tornado-like winds). Keep in mind the far eastern end of the beach is clothing-optional, and you *will* see, oh, say, buck naked 70-year-old men doing t'ai chi (true story from a recent visit).

You come here for views of the Golden Gate and Marin Headlands, which are incredible. Perfect for a stroll or a picnic on a nice day.

There are some nudists that visit this beach but they're mostly at the far end, towards the bridge.

Gets crowded but it's an awesome beach with great views north to the headlands.

A fun beach to go get some sun with friends. You can drink alcohol, bring your dog, and sunbath nude just to give you a feel for the setting. Id rather go to ocean beach but because its inside the city walls the fog will dissolve at baker before ocean beach. They have a parking lot and bathrooms at your connivence.

Probably San Francisco's most scenic beach, Baker offers stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Marin Headlands. It is rarely warm enough to actually swim here, but its fun for a picnic, a stroll, or a little game of frisbee. Try to come for a sunset!

New view of Golden Gate Bridge!

Description

Great views of San Francisco's greatest assets: the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge! You may be privy to spectacular views of assets of another variety if you're not careful-- the north end of the beach is clothing optional. More protected than Ocean Beach and in the shadow of a decommissioned military base, just minutes away from the Golden Gate Bridge, Baker Beach is a secluded gem, popular with the locals. On a weekday, the crowd is thin; on a sunny weekend, well, watch out for overflow from the clothing optional section.
