    Tanah Lot Temple

    Tabanan, Bali, Indonesia
    91 reviews

What used to be a place of worship and pilgrimage for the locals has turned into somewhat of an overly commercialized hot-spot for tourists to come in trolls and be promised something spectacular by their tour guides, only to find it uneventful. To get in and out of the temples, you'd need to pass through a tourist market twice the ...

A great place for photos! Also a wonderful place for interaction with monkeys while they do their thing or grooming each other. Be sure to purchase some bananas to feed the monkeys, they will appreciate it. Just a word of caution lol, do not hold the banana in the air expecting that they will jump for it. You will get ...

    Rice Terrace at Tegalalang

We got rained when we came here but the view was still spectacular. You can cycle around the area or simply take a walk down & up this terrace. There's a nice restaurant to hang around and a souvenir shop at the entrance.

    Bali Safari & Marine Park

Jl. Bypass Professor Ida Bagus Mantra. Km 9.8, Gianyar 80551, Indonesia
    29 reviews

I'm not a big fan of Zoos but the Agung Show is worth the visit. Just about an hour long, the show is a fantastic display of Balinese life and a lot of fun for the whole family. Unfortunately the seats are designed for the Asian guests and just simply to small for me.

    Kecak Fire and Trance Dance

Jl. Sriwedari Taman Kaja Community Ubud, Bali 80571 Indonesia
    21 reviews

Was ok. You must be familiar with the Ramayana epic otherwise you will just be lost in the trance-like chants that ran for almost an hour. The fire dance was spectacular in the dark. Come early to get the best seats.

    Pura Tirta Empul

Off Jalan Raya Tampak Siring, Sukawati 81152
    15 reviews

This place blew my mind. Me and Lobo got into the water and were blessed under about 20 different fountains. The water was ice cold and crystal clear and had thousands of flower petals floating on it from all the fallen offerings. Probably the most affected spiritually I have ever been from a religious place.

They only perform once everyday 20 mins before sunset and the show last for an hour through the sunset. Make sure you pick the right seat, if not you will not be able to see the sun set at the horizon. Uluwatu is known for its beautiful sunset. The seats filled pretty fast, make sure you came here on the ...

    Mt. Batur

    Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

Rise early and venture out into the cool, eerie darkness to climb Mt. Batur. From the summit, take in the spectacular sunrise. There are many guides available who meet you at dawn, shepherd you up the mountain and provide you with hot tea at the summit. Mt. Batur is a medium level climb and takes about half a day round ...
