Love this farmers' market. It happens every Sunday and the whole street is blocked off. There are loads of organic vegetables, local meats and cheeses stands. You can get delicious street food from one of many food stands. Often time, you will find musicians playing to add to the lively atmosphere. Besides the temporary stands, the shops alongs the streets are well worth your time. There are quite a few nice clothing stores, nice restaurants, and bakeries. This is really a lovely market to visit on a Sunday especially when the weather is nice.Recommended for:

Farmers markets are, to my mind, one of the most perfect ways to take in a new city. Taste the local food, meet local people and farmers, pet the local puppies, etc. And the Sunday morning farmers market in Ballard is exceptional. Fresh cheese, smoked salmon, Rainier cherries, and everything else you could possibly imagine lines NW Ballard (already a fantastic street for boutique shopping). For brunch, head to Bastille Cafe for upscale French or Hattie's Hat for classic Ballard Swedish, and, for dinner, try Volterra nearby.Recommended for:
