A must see venue if you haven't been before but not a spot that you need to visit often. It get's really crowded and the stores get repetitive too so its not so much for shopping. A good place to see the local LA culture. For easy parking go here: http://www.parkme.com/los-angeles-parking

Venice's original 16 miles of canals have been reduced to an affluent grid bounded by South Venice Boulevard and Ocean Avenue, 28th Avenue and Pacific Avenue. When you become bored with the Boardwalk, a trip to the canals will be soothing.

Non-touristy and full of offbeat local flavor, Abbot Kinney Blvd is just about my favorite street to amble in LA, especially to get away from the chain shops, restaurants and crowds in Santa Monica. AK Blvd is lined with independent boutique shops, art galleries, coffee bars, interesting eateries and lots of funky-beautiful people watching to boot. Parking is tight, but ...

I absolutely love the Wednesday Farmers' Market. When I used to work down the street, I would go every week and usually end up buying way too much delicous fresh fruit and veg. Now I go there for specific things or during the seasons for my favorite fruits. Try the Charlynne melons during the summer months, or white peaches. My ...

I didn't like the Intelligentsia coffee in Pasadena, and I'm not a fan of it here. The one thing the do have going for them is space. There's plenty of seating area at the Venice branch, which is great for meeting people or studying. Please note: Intelligentsia coffee is an acquired taste...I just never acquired it.

This is a great beach to have a picnic, play in the sand, or play in the ocean. There are even fire pits if you want to make some smores at night. It's not a huge beach, so it can get a little crowded with people during the summer, but it's fine if you're not looking to play sports on ...

Some claim that bodybuilding started here, at any rate its still going on. Watch bodybuilders pump iron from benches and bleachers. There's also basketball & handball courts, as well as paddle tennis. After working-up a sweat, there are many places to find refreshments, food, and many other items for your shopping enjoyment!

One of the very few true IMAX theaters in Los Angeles. The ambiance is definitely better than your usual mall multiplex, they even have a bar so you can grab a drink before settling in for your IMAX movie.

Largest private boat Marina in the US (I think) Six "basins". Eat at the Cheescake Factory outside on the patio. Nice views. Walk or bike around. have drink at the Ritz Carlton. Rent boats, sail boats, kayaks, go to Burton Chase Park. Go to Fisherman's Village to take a Tour Boat out on the water.
