If you're looking for a cheap, relatively central place to stay, this is not a bad choice. The staff are really friendly and the rooms are well-maintained. They offer discounts for groups and have a few rollaway cots. Breakfast is not included, but all rooms come with fridges and microwaves so you can always prepare your own. It's just in front of a major interstate freeway so if traffic noise lulls you to sleep, you'll love this place! The motel is also walking-distance to a 24 Hour Fitness, a Trader Joe's, and a bunch of coffee places, not to mention a late-night bowling alley. It’s also close to a major transit center, from where you can catch the light rail MAX train to downtown Portland or the airport. There’s also lots of parking.Recommended for:Budget Travelers

Located close to a very busy intersection on NE Sandy Blvd. and the on-ramp to I-84 West, this motel is not in the best neighborhood. If business location and price are important to you, then the Banfield is perfectly located for the Oregon Convention Center, Rose Garden, and downtown Portland proper.
In the area there are plenty of good places to eat, including the Portland icon Poor Richards, and stores a short distance away up Sandy Blvd., in the Hollywood district, such as Whole Foods.
The motel itself looks worn! It’s a little rundown, the rooms clean, dated, but they do offer the usual amenities including free wifi. There are also laundry facilities on premises.
The staff were professional and eager to assist where they could regarding obtaining the best out of the motel and area.
I would not want to stay here, but if you are very budget minded it may be worth it!
