I was ready for a new cut, and having not gotten one in DC yet I looked for a salon with the following criteria: decent review on Yelp, walking distance, open on Monday, and not outrageously expensive. Bang fit those, and I called at about 10:30 this morning and got an appointment at 2. Having to hold your appointment with a credit card was a little unusual for me, but since it was a same day appointment, I knew there was no possible way I'd need to cancel or be late so no worries there.
I came in and met Scott a couple minutes early and told him what I wanted. He was super attentive, and instead of the usual just showing me at the end he showed me what he'd done so far at various points to make sure it was the right length. That was great, since this was a new cut, and considerably shorter than I'd done before. He added in a few suggestions and in the end it looked fantastic! I don't have difficult hair but I was impressed that I came in with an idea and no picture and he was able to do exactly what I wanted once I pointed out a picture that was pretty similar. I was also super happy that after I said I don't use any product he didn't put any in my hair (after asking)! A definite bonus for me.
The shampoo, cut, and blow dry came out to be $42. That's much more than I'm used to spending, being from a rural area, but it's also less than a lot of other places nearby and I really don't think I could've been happier with my cut! Oh, and you can't add the tip to your card so make sure you bring cash for that.
