    The Grand Palace

    154 reviews

If you have time for only one historical sight in Bangkok, this should be it. The Palace is actually a collection of sights which includes Wat Phra Kaew (the temple of the Emerald Buddha). The complex is absolutely stunning and is a great place to take photographs (at least on the outside). Be forewarned that taxi and tuk tuk drivers ...

    Chatuchak Weekend Market

    136 reviews

Excellent day trip in Bangkok. The Chatuchak Weekend market has everything food, clothing, animals, souvenirs, etc.. Unlike other markets located in south east Asia, the quality of a lot of the items here is fairly good and you will not be harassed by the shop owners. The market is easily accessed by the Bangkok Skytrain (BTS). Take the BTS to ...

    Khao San Road

    107 reviews

A backpacker's ghetto where you're likely to see a whole host of farang from all over the world drunk out of their skulls, scoring fake documents or selling their iPods to extend their trips in Southeast Asia. The locals have long since moved on but occassionaly they pop in to see what kind of aberrant manifestations the foreigners have made ...

    Siam Paragon

    72 reviews

High end shops in this mall. Mostly branded goods Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, Prada, Paul Smith, Ferragamo, Hermes etc. On top floor there are shops selling cars for the well to do. Shops like Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, nice to admire and kinda wondered how they get those cars in these shops on the top floor. The food court is great.

    MBK Shopping Center

    90 reviews

One of Bangkok's most popular and largest malls, MBK serves as a great air-conditioned oasis. Here, you'll get an idea of the latest teen fashions and movie releases. But my favorite thing is to walk around the bridges connecting MBK and Siam Paragon (another mall nearby). At night, merchants lay out their wares (knick-knacks and clothing, mostly), and—my favorite—breakdancers practice ...

    Wat Pho

    65 reviews

Also known as the place of where the Temple of Reclining Buddha resides, this place is worth the visit. The Buddha statue is the largest in Thailand. It's about a 30 minute walk around the compounds, and it's only a block away from the grand palace.

    Temple of the Emerald Buddha

    62 reviews

The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is an awesome, majestic temple. It's definitely one of the most decadent temples I've ever been to. As an important note, men and women, please dress modestly. Otherwise you'll have to wear an additional layer of clothing and it's not fun walking around in layers when it's hot and humid outside.

For all the no-no spots after dark, patpong is where it's at. Ping Pong Shows, Drag Shows, S/ can find it here. Just don't be surprised how desensitizing it is.

    Terminal 21

    37 reviews

It's a mall...but it's a mall with an airport theme! They didn't take the theme quite as far as I would've hoped, though the info-desk employees sure wear cute outfits. The real reason I'm giving this four stars, not three, is for the food court. They made an effort to recruit well-known street vendors to open stalls here, so you ...

Located on a corner of Bangkok's busiest intersections. Local people come here and pray to the Four-Faced Buddha, blessing for their good and prosperity good future. You can too make a wish of anything, but, when it comes true, you'll have to come back the following year to show appreciation.
