This museum has an incredible collection of Thai and Cambodian art. Unfortunately, the quality of the space itself isn't that great so pieces aren't displayed as attractively as they should be and there isn't as much English language educational material as there should be to attract tourists.

Definitely worth a visit but best to read up ahead of time so you are familiar with some of the artistic styles and symbolism.

Nice building with interesting materials but they are not displayed well. The staff is also not very friendly... apparently more interested in policing activity than interpreting the collection. They charge a hefty premium to foreigners.

Skip the historical explanations in the first hall (unless you want to see 40 dioramas of dudes fighting on elephants) and head into the gorgeous collection of the finest of Thai art in the main halls. With lovely palaquins, painting, silk-work, and nice collections of metalwork, musical instruments, and armaments, it's a good place to get a summation of Thai art-craft.

Learn about Thai art and history !!! Bangkok National Museum is the main branch museum and houses the largest collection of Thai art and artifacts in Thailand. It's located on Naphrathat road ( near The
    Grand Palace) . I think it's definitely worth a visit once. ^___^
