As a visitor to Paris, crossing the bridges along the Seine River is an essential experience. You'll often see couples cuddling or kissing. I recommend walking along the Seine when the sun is setting.Recommended for:

Iconic, lovely and historic. Walking along the Seine captures the romantic, art loving city at it's most attractive. Vendors and artists are scattered along the route but aren't intrusive, and instead blend in perfectly with the arches and bridges that are so photographic. Romantic at any time but I loved the lunchtime strolls best - I saw a group of habit-clad Nuns having a picnic across from Notre Dame. Everything seems serene, timeless and beautiful and you feel like a star in your own movie set while walking along the banks.

Paris is such a great walking city. There is so much to explore and discover on foot. Walking along the Seine is almost like looking into a kaleidoscope with the scenery slowly changing in front of the eyes.
There can be a tourist boat, a street vendor selling books or vintage post cards, a couple walking hand in hand, a fountain, an artist sketching, or just someone taking in the ever changing scenery. Reason # 24 why I heart Paris.

On a nice spring or summer day tons of Parisians are here snacking or just drinking to enjoy the great weather. I highly suggest doing as the Parisians do. Wine, cheese, charcuteries and some bread will make a perfect picnic.
