This is known as the second highest open air restaurant in the southern hemisphere. You can chose to dine there or have cocktails at the bar. We had a three course meal for 3 people which cost about $500 AU.

I booked this after having stayed at a Banyan Tree resort in Mexico (not on my own dime!), and I wanted somewhere well-known and easy to get to in which to recuperate from our massive set of transpac flights. It's far less pricey than a BT resort, and also a bit less flashy--more like an upscale business hotel. But lovely service, and the restaurant (which was all we could muster after our flights) was really, really good--memorable fresh seafood salad, with a view over the city. There's also a great street-food zone across the avenue, en route to the Skytrain, and Nahm (David Thompson's place) is now next door. We prefer a different (lower-budget, more personal) hotel now when we go, but this was a comfy launchpad.

Amazing hotel in the midst of the bustling city. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by the luxurious scent of jasmine and gardenias in the air, and the fantasy never lets up. Try to book a room on the higher floors and with club room access. The location is wonderful, but the service is even more so. And you will want to visit the spa and stock up on all the goodies in the spa store too!!Recommended for:Luxury Travelers

A modern hotel in a relatively small land but near to the business district. It has excellent rooms and view (if you have the upper floors) and most importantly, good restaurants on the rooftop - with stunning view of Bangkok.Recommended for:Business Travelers

5-8 years ago, this was a lovely place to stay - great location, great spa and gorgeous city views from Vertigo the roof top restaurant. Now it seems a victim of it's own success - bit too popular and not so helpful or flexible e.g. there's a strict dress code for Vertigo for Westerners...but it doesn't seem to apply to the local girls who appear after midnight.
