A true oasis of comfort and tranquility in the otherwise chaotic landscape of Morondava. Just off the beach, but directly on a mangrove lagoon, this small hotel and restaurant/bar feels shut off and world's away from the rest of Morondava. The rooms are very clean, sharp and artsy hip, with balconies overlooking a beautiful pool area and verdant mangroves beyond. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the bar and restaurant serve delicious food as well as much-needed strong cocktails.

A boat charter service also runs directly from the hotel (the boat is docked behind the pool and bar!). I didn't take advantage of that feature, but it looked like a great boat for fishing, sight-seeing, day-cruising, etc.

The beach is just across the street, but the street is made of sand, so even though you're officially considered "off beach", you're actually on it. Regardless, it takes 2 minutes to walk to the ocean from your room...

Overall, a great place to stay. I wouldn't recommend anything else in Morondava above this place!
