This fab little retro cervezeria is one of my favorites on Calle Somera, a street in the old city where dreadlocked punks cluster outside bars drinking beer out of slender glasses while their dogs bark at each other, where rock and roll spills out of crowded pubs and studded belts are displayed in store windows. K-2 has a great ambience ...

    Estudio Galeria Juanjo San Pedro

Gayle and I arrived in Laguardia mid-day one Sunday. This a charming "Village On The Hill" deep in the Rioja Wine Country. We came here to walk around, have Lunch, and possibly tour one of the Bodegas that are contained underneath. Things didn't go entirely to plan as we got lost coming here and the Bodegas close early on Sunday. ...

    Museo San Telmo

    1 review

The buildings themselves are worth a visit, the newer addition includes a "living" wall of plants growing out of the concrete. Lots of wood and light. With a focus on getting people to get along and allow diversity, the museum's exhibits are both entertaining and thought provoking. Don't miss the light and sound show in the chapel, using two rooms ...

    Bodegas Ysios

    1 review

Another bodega you should not miss in Rioja Alavesa wine region. Ysios was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The building is absolutely stunning, worth the visit! The tour should be booked in advance. Nice tour, they only produce reserva, and the final tasting is done on the main central room, which is also awesome, beautifully designed, with great views ...

Go here to learn about the amazing underwater life that surrounds this city. It also boasts amazing views of La Isla de Santa Kiara, the entire city, and the beautiful bay. If you have kids, I'm sure they would love it here (I loved it and so I'm just assuming kids would too).

    Kiosko del Arenal

    1 review

This cool looking bandshell and it's distinctive, modern overhanging roof is next to the River in the Casco Viejo (Old Town). Built in 1923, destroyed by the 1983 floods, and rebuilt and reopened in 1985. The stage is used for open air concerts and sometimes features the Bilbao Town Band that has been in existence since the late 1800s. The ...

Shopping center San Martín with parking facilities. The building and surroundings are probably the commercial center of the city. Bar "La Espiga" near by is also worth to visit.

    Plaza Nueva

    1 review

This pretty, Neoclassical square in the midst of Casco Vieja, was built in 1823 and used to be the main Government building in Bilbao. The building now houses the Academy of the Basque Language on the upper floors and all the alcoves on the bottom are little pintxo bars (tapas in Spanish, pintxo in the Basque areas) and shops. Concerts, ...
