While the Bastakiyah quarter may not be authentically “old”, it has been beautifully restored to represent life in old Dubai. The small neighborhood is a labyrinth of winding streets lined with cafes, art galleries, and shops. It’s one of the most unique areas in Dubai and the heart of the historical quarter. The architecture is representative of old Dubai with its wind towers, alleyways, and heritage houses. You can also admire the original city walls as you explore the neighborhood. I would recommend a visit here in the evening, preferably during the winter, to enjoy a cup of Arabic coffee and desserts.Recommended for:

One of the most authentic places in Dubai. Make sure you spend a couple of hours walking around and exploring the neighborhood.
You can find several galleries, museums along with a small hotel and some cafes.
Bastakiya is the historical center of Dubai and where the city started.Recommended for:

I love this area. It is newly built but is a nice effort to recreate the feeling of the ancient Middle East. Bastakiya is filled with galleries and cafes. It isn't quite as vibrant as I'd like it to be but is a great place to visit.Recommended for:
