A 2km strip running along Manila Bay, this pleasant promenade is an excellent place to relax, people-watch, and take in the sunset after a long day sightseeing in the heat. There's a fair amount of homelessness on display here, and more than a few hawkers, but people are largely polite and unobtrusive. It's one of Manila's best public spaces and a great place to take in the life of the city.

From the US Embassy down the Manila Yacht Club and beyond, I loved walking along the shore of Manila Bay, Corregidor and the Bataan Peninsula off in the distance.

A beautiful walk or a chaotic walk, depending on the whether it is rush hour or not. The area is very clean and relaxing otherwise. I was told of stories of vendors lined on the streets selling food and beer and able to walk the baywalk and join a group for some drinks. That has gone away with the new mayor. But it is still a great place. It best seen at night when to see the amazing lights of the city.

Description:

Find the Baywalk along the west end of Makati City, an ideal place for catching the sunset and the subsequent city lights. The promenade stretches for approximately two kilometers along the coast.
