If you want to try the experience of living in a typical villa of Lido di Venezia of the beginning of the century this is the right place. The room we had had also a small kitchen. This B&B was created a couple of years ago from a liberty villa. It has a nice garden and it is just five ...

The best ice cream I've ever tasted. In fact the ice cream is good but icecream cakes, so called Torta Tita and Gianduiotto are something i can't tresist to. Anytime. The ice cream shop is old and nothing special but you will be delighted by the taste of cakes.

Davidia has a retro 70's vibe and is right on the beach, not far from the shut down Grand Hotel Des Bains. This club can be a bit pricey but if you love to party and dance then it is well worth it. The DJ's booked here range from local to international (last month NY DJ Frankie Feliciano played here). ...

No matter which way you walk around Lido, you are bound to come across a bike rental shop. The way Lido is shaped, it is imperative to explore the sandbar on a regular bike, or tandem bike, or a family trolley. This is a fun activity and way to get around Lido. Venice Bike Rental is located on the main ...

Piazzo San Marco was once called "the finest dining room of Europe" by Napoleon. What it is is a large square where people gather to look at the beautiful structures and touristy restaurants. Beware of pickpocketers. That said, go ahead and do the touristy thing if it's your first time here and wander over. It's cool to see history.

The Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mark (or Basilica Cattedrale Patriarcale di San Marco) is a signature Church among many in Venezia. It is the most famous of the City's churches and one of the best known examples of Italy-Byzantine architecture. You can't miss it from the eastern end of the Piazza San Marco, adjacent and connected to the Doge's ...

Something you can't really avoid in Venice as it is one of two bridges across the Grand Canale. Normally crowded but interesting.

I don't think you could miss the grand canal in Venice even if you tried. It's the widest and longest canal in Venice, and you will undoubtedly cross it at least once as you walk through the side walks of Venice. Make sure you hitch a ride either, if not on a gondola than on the vaporetta.

Over-rated. From the outside, it appears to be just another bridge, albeit a covered one. If you miss it, you're trip won't be lacking.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Gondola ride through the winding Venetian canals. The elderly gentleman that took us around had a very sweet, soft, but talented voice. We look forward to the next excursion through the Venice labyrinth.

There's no chance you can miss the canals of Venice, since they're everywhere :D and that's what makes Venice as remarkable as it is. I love the atmosphere with all the canals, the bridges and the old houses.

The Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace) was created for the ruler of the Republic of Venice. The Doge was the elected leader of Venice, and once elected the Doge ruled for life. The Palace is next to St Mark's Cathedral. While in the Palace, make sure you visit the Palace jail. We were told that the infamous Casanova was a prisoner ...

I absolutely loved this gallery! Created from her Venetian home and still housing so much of her mid-century art collection, it was wonderful to wander through and discover each piece. Modigliani and Henry Moore are among the pieces you'll find there. It's right on the Grand Canal, easy to find and, I think, employees young Americans so no problem with ...

The Ponte dell'Accademia is one of only four bridges in Venice to span the Grand Canal. It crosses near the southern end of the canal, and is named for the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. The bridge links the Sestieres of Dorsoduro and San Marco. Gayle and I walked over this Bridge twice, both times starting at San Marco's ...

Too bad we visited Venice in Mars when the weather was still cold and couldn't enjoy the sandy beaches of the Lido. I think in summer it would be a blast. But it was still worth the visit because The Lido is more "Normal City Like" if you've fed up with the slow rhythm of Venice and has the clubs...
