It's a little difficult to find this place, so make sure to follow your GPS. It's romantic if you're dining in the evening...I would recommend during sunset so that you can see out towards the beach (ask for outside seating!). And you can walk along the beach afterwards.

I went here on a date. We parked in what looks like a state beach parking lot and walked along the path down to the beach. We arrived early for dinner so we decided to take a walk along the beach and enjoy the sunset. By the time we walked back it started to get dark. We were able to get a table inside but they also have outdoor seating with heat lamps and blankets! There's a full bar and the menu is varied American. I ordered the sangria and it is a lovely sparkly, fruity beverage. Delicious.
To start we ordered the garlic bread boule. I had the spinach truffle mac and he ordered the maple glazed salmon. For dessert, we shared the beach beignets. The garlic bread boule is a sourdough bread boule laced with delicious garlic butter. It was served warm with a crispy crust. If you know me, you know that I love macaroni and cheese in all of its forms. This macaroni and cheese was combined with spinach and mushrooms with truffle oil. It was oh-so-good! The salmon was perfect! It was served on coconut rice. Normally, I like to sprinkle lemon juice on my fish but there was no need in this case. The maple flavor was perfect and the salmon was seared til crispy. So yummy! The beignets were fluffy clouds of dough paired with Ghiradelli chocolate sauce and vanilla bean ice cream!
I was a very happy girl and on cloud nine. There's a shuttle that will take you back to the parking lot from 7 pm to 10 pm for $1 fare. That beats walking back in the cold along a very dimly lit path. I'll take warmth any day. Ultimately, it was a fantastic place for a date. I'll be back for their brunch.

Serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner, Beachcomber Cafe sits along the sand at Crystal Cove so you can easily pop in for a quick bite or take your time and lounge for a bit while taking in the beautiful site. Lunch standouts include Blackened Swordfish Tacos with pineapple salsa, Lobster Roll and the Pepper Crusted Ahi Salad. Also, for those in need of a refreshing beverage, there is a tropical side bar with some very flavorful cocktails, like Laura's Lemonade with vodka and Chambord raspberry liquor or the Passion Fruit Martini with rum, citrus vodka, sparking wine and fresh lime juice. This place is paradise.
