Very short street. Cute shops and some bars. Not very impressive over all. Watch out for the local street hustlers. Kid doing flips down the street are worth watching.

Strolling down Beale Street is a like mini New Orleans Bourbon St. Music pours out of every door and from the park. Restaurants are everywhere. The area is very crowded and street performers do somersaults down the Main Street. The area is about 3 blocks long and fun to see.

I loved Beale Street, we enjoyed great music and food. I would definitely go back. Our first night there was a Thursday but Friday was a lot more busy with metal detectors and a strong police presence. The Peabody Hotel is a few blocks away and they have a great tradition at 11:00am and 5:00pm with a march of the ducks. Make sure you check out the Sun Records tour which is quite close to Beale Street and is a must for music lovers.

A must-do if you've never been to Memphis. The depth of history and legend tied to this famous street precedes it, as does its reputation for long rowdy, alcohol driven nights of music, dancing, and good times. Be sure to see it for yourself at least once. Its central downtown location makes it an easy stop after a game or en route to a show.

All I have to say about Beale Street is that it is AWESOME. At night, they shut the whole street down, and it turns into a big party complete with great food, jello shots (and any other drinks you can think of - you're allowed to drink on the street), and the best jazz music you've ever heard. On every corner, there's another person or band playing music and people dancing and having the best time.

Although this is one of the main attractions in memphis, I wasn't that impressed to be honest. The music is ok, but I liked Nashville better. The clubs are ok also, but service was not what I expected. And it is a very SMALL area. So, ok for a few hours, but that's it.

Beale Street is one of the most famous attractions in Memphis. It's three or so blocks of bars and clubs is full of energy. You probably want to wait until later in the night to visit to get the full effect.
