If you first drive into Breckenridge and notice a tall red and black hotel complex that looks like something out of Mordor looming in the back of town, that is the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center. In fact, this place really didn’t feel like the rest of Breckenridge, and even if it didn’t tower above the rest, its angular structures and big skywalks would still make it stick out compared to the rest of the quaint Victorian- or lodge-style buildings. Everything seemed straight from the ’70s, and the rooms had strange layouts. Even the condo with the huge skylight felt, well, strange.
Despite all this, Beaver Run is oozing with amenities, including multiple restaurants, pools, huge conference spaces, and everything in between. You can also walk out the back of the main building and right onto the ski hill, and the views of the mountains are unforgettable. If you are looking for a place with character, this isn’t it, but it is still a good bet for impressing the in-laws or hosting a business meeting.Recommended for:

The ski lift is practically in the back yard. Oh yeah, and you can buy tickets at the concierge. Beaver Run is open year round, has six hot tubs and a mini-golf course/arcade for the kids. It's not cheap but it has everything for a great ski weekend.Recommended for:

The Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center was like a miniature civilization. It did not feel like the rest of Breckenridge at all.
This massive complex is located at the base of Peak 9, and they have private shuttles which you would need to get into town.
Beaver Run is dog friendly, and they have a spa with an oxygen bar. Honestly, there just isn't much to say about this place. It had the feeling of a generic, big business hotel. The hallways were tight and dark.
This would be a great hotel is you were in Breckenridge on business and had to focus.Recommended for:

Beaver run had us at "ski in, ski out." This is one of the larger resorts in Breck, and one of the older ones. It's pretty obvious they've been updating EVERYTHING with $$ as opposed to lip service only.
The lift is literally 30 feet from the edge of the property. To be fair, your room could well be a ways away given the size of this place, but.. there's just so much to DO here! There must be at least five restaurant options. While skiing, a little known secret is the amazing buffet that skiers can take advantage of. It's $15 for all you can eat (we heard it was $10 in the summer), with sit-down table service while you're there. There's no way you can beat that anywhere on the mountain. I've paid more for a burger, fries, and a soda at the mountain restaurants. Great deal.
Pools and tubs. Check the pictures. Massive indoor/outdoor pool complex. And a really cool concept with the hot tubs. There are about eight of them, which allows groups, or couples, to have one all to themselves. Great idea.
If you can get past the size and scope of this place (think, cruise ship), you will really be impressed. It has everything, and the staff seems motivated to make everyone's stay as perfect as that perfect Colorado powder can be.
