Beccofino’s offers exquisite Italian cuisine that won’t break your wallet. Pizzas come around the twenty dollar mark and desserts at ten. It is situated in the Tennerife, Newstead area, right across from Brisbane River.
We went on a Friday night and managed to have a table in less than half an hour (they don’t do bookings). The atmosphere is quite loud as it’s a busy restaurant, but it’s not unbearable. The lighting is soft with modern décor, so it doesn’t opt out for the dusty “traditional” style interior that we are all familiar with in some Italian restaurants.
Our waiter was charming and efficient. We decided to share 3 pizzas between four people. We ordered the Parmigiana and the Salame et Fontina, both tomato based and the Fungi Misti pizza, white based. The base and crust of the pizzas was soft, chewy and cooked to perfection. The toppings were fresh.
Afterwards we shared two desserts (with a little encouragement from the waiter), the Budino; a chocolate fig pudding in a warm custard sauce and the vanilla bean pannacotta with poached rhubarb. They were marvelous.
All of us agreed that this was one of the nicest meals that we had had out in a long time and definitely that Beccofino’s makes some of the best pizza in Brisbane that we have experienced yet.
