Huge airport. Luckily it is well organized with plenty of signage in a variety of languages making it relatively easy for tourists to navigate. The food options are a bit limited considering the size of the airport, but are satisfactory.Recommended for:Business Travelers

The Beijing Capital International Airport is impressive and efficient. However, beware of the taxi drivers hovering outside of the airport. Some taxi drivers insist that they are legit when in actually they just want to rip off tourists.

Beijing Capital International Airport is the worst airport and chaos I've ever use. Arrival is good but departure is a terrible for me. Although this is one of the most biggest airport in the world.
The last time in June 2013, it's no announcement when the airline changed departure gates. But only runs on the monitor board 30 minutes before boarding time. And when all passengers ready on board, the captain announced that the airport was not allowed to fly up. Then officers just let we knew that they have to arrange for a new queue to fly up. Unfortunately, we were in 100 so all passengers in that flight had to wait for 4 hours on the plane.

For the international terminal: Big and shiny! Make sure you eat before going through security otherwise you're gonna have a bad time. Overall clean and easy to navigate. For the domestic terminals: Somewhat dirty, and a bit more confusing. Also, as has been noted, older and a bit run down.

We spent seven hours in this airport during the worst storm in the last 61 years. Our plane was finally canceled, but the experience was good. The staff seemed well organized. Everyone remained calm. There was plenty of food, and the staff kept the bathrooms and areas clean.

Big, shiny, and modern, PEK was renovated and built out to accomodate the capacity for the 2008 Olympics. What an awesome first impression for both first time and returning visitors. First timers to the newer and better PEK might be in awe by its shear size and shininess. Returning visitors definitely are reminded by its efficiency and (maintained) cleaniness.
One of the top airports in the world in my book. Now they just need to advertise their airport express train more!! Always allot extra time for road congestions to / frm PEK if driving.
