One of the best places i've been to in DC. An outstanding selection of beers, and great food. Highly recommended.

Visitors to DC tend to overlook Capitol Hill and the Barracks Row strip of 8th St. SE, where Belga Cafe is found, and it is a shame. As a resident of the neighborhood I may be biased, but Belga is one of the restaurant gems of the District. Great for brunch or dinner, Belga has an extensive menu of tasty Belgian treats and has a range that is only exceeded by a tremendous slection of drinks. Wait staff are knowledgeable and happy to give recommendations for a dish or a brew you may have yet to encounter. The Chef is omnipresent and mingles frequently with the diners to make sure everything is going well. Definitely get mussels and fries, and if coming for brunch don't be afraid of some of the drinks that mix beer and juice - seriously. Easy access from the Eastern Market metro, so you have no excuse even if you are staying in Northwest. It is a popular place and you can make reservations on Open Table very easily. If it is nice weather, request a seat outside on the sidewalk.

Authentic Belgian food and Beer. Better yet a Belgian brunch. 1 block from Eastern Market Metro Stop. Rabbit, duck breast, beef stew, scallops. Cozy, charming.
