Great family-run hotel. In fact, it was built by the grandparents of the current proprietors. Lots of nice little touches that made it feel more like being a guest in someone's home than in a hotel. If you're looking for a luxury hotel experience, this is not the place, but if you want something relatively affordable and nice in Zermatt, check it out.Recommended for:

Wow, talk about a real bed and breakfast that’s family owned and shows how much they love what they do! Walking into the reception, we’re welcomed by the family’s daughter who’s more than happy to show us the hotel room and amenities. I fell in love with this B and B when we got to the whirlpool area which had lounge chairs facing the Matterhorn and the whole southern part of town could be seen below us. This area is enclosed with a slanted roof back and huge picture window about 15 feet high on it’s front end. The room looks, feels, and smells of ‘home’, cozy comfy and easy. The only catch is that you need to walk 5-10 minutes to get to town center through beautiful winding roads with scenic views, oh the horror!,,, a 5 star feel for me!Recommended for:

Here, you are not staying at a hotel, you are visiting family and staying at their Swiss chalet. At least that’s the impression I got from this 3 generation family-run bed and breakfast. The food is home-made, baked goods the specialty. There was a lounge area with a fireplace next to the front desk, perfect for a nice cuppa, or the café-style restaurant was available for breakfast and more. The deck off of the restaurant was a summertime paradise, looking out over the Matterhorn. The room was quaint and cute, like something out of a gingerbread house. Get your game on in the game room with table tennis, foosball and a treadmill, or relax in the wellness area, with a sauna, steam room, or a private whirlpool bath with an unparalleled view of the Matterhorn. It doesn’t get much better than that.Recommended for:
All rooms come with private bath, WC, bathrobe, hair dryer, radio, cable TV, direct dial telephone and safe for valuables.
