This is a completely unique and charming place to stay. It's a villa-style cluster of apartments nestled on the top of a hill that overlooks the west end of downtown. Each room is tucked away behind layers of lush vegetation and landscaping, and every room has an enclosed open-air patio with intimate seating. If you happen to get one that faces east you will have a fantastic view of downtown on the horizon.
Valet parking is required because guests are not allowed to park inside the village, but there is ample parking to the west on the other side near the adjoining restaurant. There is a considerable drive if you want to reach the more exciting parts of town (like downtown or the arts district), so be prepared to take a taxi or hitch a ride with a local. The neighborhood is not exactly the best, but it seems like a safe and comfortable place to stay if you're here to see the city.

Just outside of Downtown, where the early signs of gentrification are evident, the Hotel Belmont is situated atop a hill in a vintage-style motel. Though the spaces are tight, the hotel is big on character. All of the modern comforts travelers expect like flatscreen TVs and wifi are available in a fun and colorful guest room. However, Hotel Belmont's biggest attraction is Smoke, the award-winning farm to table barbecue restaurant. You can smell the enchanting aromas from the street, and no doubt, from the guest rooms. I've been there a few times, and yes the food at Smoke is as good as it smells.Recommended for

You may or may not know this but Dallas is flat, REALLY flat, the Belmont Hotel is on a hill which not only gives it a great view of downtown but an air of mystery. This landmark was originally a motor hotel from the 1940s and it’s now been preserved to some of its original charm in a boutique hotel. The rooms are kind of cool, they have their original bathrooms and all have different tile colors in the bathrooms, when you walk into your room for the first time you’ll find a handwritten note with a welcome letter and a quote and there’s even a recycling bag in your room which while becoming trendy, I still really appreciate. The property is interesting, right now there are these really amazing paintings that are actually for sale but they will soon be switched out, agave plants look a lot like aloe, the pool overlooks a nice piece of land and then a view of the city and a lily pad pond has is. Smoke is a partnership with the owners of Bolsa with authentic barbecue, there’s Bar Belmont which is fun and has a great view and there’s even a summer concert series by the pool that I want to check out next time I go back. Belmont Hotel is a really cool concept and there are plenty of reasons to visit, personally, I probably won’t go back and spend a night but I definitely plan on making this one of my new hangouts.

Charming! The room was nicely renovated and comfortable. The view of downtown Dallas is spectacular. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on a hilltop in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas. It's surrounded by trees and nearby businesses as well. The hotel bar is my favorite part of the hotel. They have a nice drink selection and that beautiful view of downtown.
Word to the wise advice... pony-up the extra $ to valet your car. There is a lot available to use, but your car is safer with the valet. :o)
