Belnord Hotel

209 West 87th Street, New York City, NY 10024
1 review

The Belnord is close to the 1 train and a couple of blocks from Central Park, just above the Museum of Natural History. It's a no frills hotel that I think is a bit overpriced. The Wifi wasn't that useful when I was there.

This museum is huge to visit and it has lots of people in the place and is easy to get lost and turn around in this place. Disability access is difficult need to watch for where the elevators are located what direction you’re going. No disability parking and curb cuts are difficult to navigate around and it’s across from Central ...

    Solomon R Guggenheim Museum

    0.93 mi from Belnord Hotel

The circular building, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is a work of art in itself. The Guggenheim is easy to manipulate because of its spiral structure. We usually take the elevator to the top level and work our way down. The permanent collection and temporary exhibits are devoted to art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Note: Average size purses ...

While every area in Central Park is worth seeing, and a great place for the kids to run around, there is just something extra special about Strawberry Fields. Located on the Upper West Side, this beautiful black and white mosaic honors the life and many talents of musician John Lennon and commemorates the song “Strawberry Fields Forever” that he wrote ...

A beautiful memorial. People always bring flowers to pay their respects to a great man. There are usually people playing his songs on guitar around the memorial too. There is a profound and respectful silence in this area.

The reservoir is a great place for a quick run or a leisurely walk. It is about 1.5 miles around and it is especially beautiful when the sun starts to set. I find it very therapeutic to come here after a long day at work. I used to live close by and it was very convenient to come here. Now ...

Ok, I've never bothered to learn the story of the Belvedere Castle but I have seen it many times. The view from the parapets is nice and Shakespeare in the Park performances are given in the adjoining theater.

The Dakota holds a special place in my heart. There's nothing like stepping out of a long walk in Central Park and being confronted with this gorgeous apartment building, with its flames lighting the walls and air of exclusivity. John Lennon was killed here in 1980.

I am unsure why this place is popular. Yes, it has lots of (Hershey's) chocolate. Yes, lots of the choices aren't seen anywhere else. Yes, they pump chocolate smelling air throughout the store (sort of odd, when you think about it). But at the end of the day, it's Hershey's chocolate. Why would you want that?
