I hosted a Grubwithus dinner in the cool hidden downstairs dining room! It was actually the perfect spot for our group, as it was much quieter and felt more intimate so we could talk to one another.
We started off with some of their delicious cocktails. I had the Kentucky Mule which was like a Moscow Mule but with bourbon.
The food we had was fantastic! My favorites were their spicy italian sausage, panna & green onions pizza and cioppino, and the gelato with sea salt was divine. I also really enjoyed the prosciutto risotto, but it was a bit too rich with the goat cheese. I would've loved to try their truffle risotto.
Service was awesome too!

I went to Beretta with a few friends for drinks and loved it here! Beretta has great mixologists on staff, and the ambience and setting is cool and trendy.

This little mission pizza/tapas restaurant has garnered quite the reputation over the last couple years-- and for good reason. If you're looking for a swanky-but-still-mission experience (hip-but-smart casual), Beretta serves up fantastic small plates, yummy pizzas, and creative cocktails.
Not content to rest on their reputation, the bar changes its cocktail menu rather frequently-- though the favorites are never off the list for long. Sit back and enjoy the show as one of the very skilled drink-smiths crafts your drink to taste-tested specifications.
When you get your table/place at the community table (and you will likely have to wait. It's not usually packed on weeknights, but you may still have to wait for a spot), I have to suggest passing over the pizza (though it is good) in favor of trying as many of the small plates as you can. They're all quite good and tend to be fun/creative variations on traditional foods.
This is probably not the best restaurant to head to alone or with a big group, but for 2-4 people looking for something a bit more special than a mission taqueria, Beretta won't disappoint.

One of my two favorite restaurants in SF (the other is Nopa). Beretta quickly became an SF staple and for good reason-- great ambiance, delicious food and equally delicious cocktails. It's a classy joint without being too fancy or pretentious but with enough atmosphere that it feels like a special night out. The food is easy to share. You'll definitely want to do a pizza. But the antipasti plates are great, too-- particularly the buratta and the baked polenta!Recommended for:Foodies

This really is one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco, right next to NOPA. It is consistently crowded for dinner though, and unfortunately they don't take reservations for smaller groups. Therefore my best experiences have been for brunch and large group dinners. It's especially nice to rent out the downstairs area for large parties. Every single time, the food is supremely delicious and the bill is actually reasonable. In SF, I'll take that and keep coming back for more.

On the first night of the trip it was just the guys and I led my friends to Beretta located in the Mission. For people not that familiar with the Mission area, at night the area can seems a little dodgy. My friends were a little hesitant about my choice as we walked from the Bart station to the bar/restaurant, but their hesitation did not last long. We ordered 3 rounds of drinks with our waiter helping us with recommendation and they were all delicious. More than just the drinks, Beretta just has a great ambiance that makes you want to linger around longer that you intended. We ended up being the last ones out the door because we had such a great time. Since then, I have been back a couple of time for dinner and drinks and the food impressed me even more than the drinks. Everything was tasty and just hit the spot. Luckily for me, I think this place gets overshadowed by the more popular restaurants like pizza delfina and tartine bakery, but I would highly recommend this place over both of those.

I really love this place. I'm one of those people that loves to try as many different things as possible during a single sitting, so the small dishes fit my style. I've yet to try one I didn't love. They mix amazing cocktails here as well. Best part...they're open until 1AM. Upscale late night dining. It's rare in this town (though it shouldn't be).
