    Greek Theater

    32 reviews

Portishead. That's the photo on my Gogobot postcard. An amazing show by an amazing, and elusive, band. Of all the concert venues in the Bay Area, Greek Theater may be the most comfortable. If you opt to stay away from the standing crowd, you can find seats leading up (in true Greek theater fashion) to an upper grassy field. Like ...

    21 reviews

If you want to do something that's romantic & free, go to Berkeley Marina! :) I took my date to this place since he's super new to CA, and I thought of this place because I've been here in the past. It's a sure win! Definitely walk along the pier at night time so you get the pretty city light ...

    Tilden Regional Park

    16 reviews

My son and I enjoy Little Farm/Nature Centre/Lake, the Carousel, the Steam Train and sometimes the ponies. The Hiking is great and so is the Brazilian Room and the fact that I'm in wilderness within 10 minutes of my house. And this is just one modest part of the East Bay Parks District!

    Cesar E. Chávez Park

    6 reviews

César Chávez Park is 90 acres and is named after the famous farm labor leader. It's on the North side of the Berkeley and is adjacent to Eastshore State Park. I've come here for the Kite Festival and to walk the dog, although for the latter, I prefer Point Isabel. Like the less developed Albany Bulb, this park is built ...

Pegasus & Pendragon Books - Shattuck

    5 reviews

This Pegasus remains standing after defeating the Death Star (Barnes and Noble) across the street. Although my home Pegasus store is on Solano, I do manage to occasionally wander over to the south end of Downtown Berkeley (and usually avoiding Half Price Books entirely). This Pegasus seems a little smaller and less crowded than the Solano store, but has the ...

    Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant

    5 reviews

I'd give it five stars, but it's hard to buy wine over $10. HOWEVER, when you are in the mood, staff is friendly and knowledgable, and KL is a Berkeley institution. That, and it's right next door to Acme Bread and Bartavelle Coffee...Walkable from Kiwi.

    Little Farm

    4 reviews

Little Farm is free petting zoo in Tilden Park, a huge park just beyond the Berkeley hills. Located near the northern entrance, Little Farm is, well, a little farm with a bunch of pettable animals like cows, sheep, goats, piglets, bunnies, and all sorts of farm birds (turkeys, chickens, roosters, ducks....). Visitors are welcome to feed the animals (BYO celery ...

If you need your Japanese food fix this is the place to go. It's a bit from from Daly City but if you live in the East Bay I think this is a great option.

The Botanic Garden at Tilden, was founded in 1940 and is a gorgeous and often overlooked place for Families to enjoy nature in safe and nurturing environment. You can wander around as long or as little as you would like and it's a nice supplement to the common Little Farm, Carousel, and Steam Trains circuit. The Botanic Garden at Tilden ...
