Beautiful. Enchanting. Elegant. Historic. Lovely.
If in the future I get married, this could be a possible venue. fyi. Hehe.. :)
I had bought a LivingSocial for this place & I needed to use it before the end of April. So since my cousin was visiting for her spring break, I decided to use it with her. Overnight stay on a Sunday night since they're Fri & Sat nights were all booked up. Found parking on the streets so it's pretty easy. Definitely park on the streets rather than paying to park in their garage.
They have two garden areas which is very pretty. The one in the middle smells so sweet especially at night time. The swimming pool area is soo ornate. I really wish that I brought my swimsuit with me so I can dive right in, but unfortunately I forgot.
Gorgeous gothic architecture inside the "castle."
Our room was adorable! I felt like I was in a dollhouse or something. Very pink & "Monet" I was a bit scared when were trying to sleep at night cause it is a old building & so we left all the lights on. Haha..
The balcony area is just simply gorgeous for pictures. Needless to say, my cousin & I had lots of laughs from taking pictures here. Laughing ourselves & probably by spectators in the hotel "Thinking what the hell are those two crazy girls doing?!" :D

Gayle and I toured the Berkeley City Club a few years ago as a possible site for our wedding and loved what we saw. Our guide (I think her name was Felicitas, but I'm pulling that from memory) was wonderful and really gave us a feel for the special history and architecture of the Berkeley City Club. Gayle's great grandmother was also a student at Cal at the same time as Julia Morgan, and family lore has them knowing one another and dancing together at the Greek Theatre.
There are a number of ornate room choices for both the ceremony and a reception. We particularly liked the Terrace and the second floor library. Catering is in-house and parking of course is a challenge. The Berkeley City Club is also not cheap. After all, it does cost money to keep this amazing and historical building in top shape. Also, at our age and with a marriage each behind us, maybe our money is better spent on our subsequent Portugal honeymoon instead of a "fairytale" wedding.Recommended for:History Buffs
