Just a two-minute walk from Notre-Dame, in the narrow streets of I'lle St.-Louis, you'll find a very popular Parisian favorite ice cream and sorbet store. The sorbets are made from the very freshest fruits in season; my favorites are passion fruit and black current. All my French friends, (I lived in Paris for 4 years) made a pilgrimage to Bertillion on warm spring and summer afternoons. If ther's a long line at the first Bertillion store on the corner of Ile-St.Louis, don't worry, just walk another block down the same street and you'll find other small stores selling the French delicacy. Restaurants brag on their menus that they serve Bertillion ice cream. But it's best at the source. I can't resist. I always buy a second helping. After all, I don't go to Paris every month!
