This Best Western with a special Asian flair is located in the heart of Chinatown. The hotel is situated at the end of a little courtyard, which has other businesses like a cafe, hair salon, and post office. The hotel itself has a hotel gym and martial arts center. And it just so happens to be down the street from my all-time favorite dim sum restaurant, Ocean Seafood. You're also pretty close to Union Station and Downtown.

I've stayed at other Chinatown hotels, but this one really captures the feel of the Orient. Excellent layout, very comfortable, reasonable rates. Extremely awkward parking, but, hey, they have it! I'm guessing the fish in the small globe is placed in each room to be good luck, but I felt sorry for the poor thing. Convenient walk (what? walking in LA?) to Chinatown, Olvera Street, Union Station and Philippe's.

The Worst Hotel of our whole trip. Should have checked the reviews first but was fooled by the closenes to the LA Rail system not realising this was a 'rough' part of town. Having to go through 4 levels of security just to get to our room and then the poor quality of what was inside was a real dissapointment - but is was just one disaster in a field of successes using the internet for our booking agent.
