I was legitimately impressed by this traditionally "budget" quality hotel. The rooms were legitimately nice with some great additions (including a microwave, which is KEY if you're bringing home leftovers) and the location is top notch. I think being situated between Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle really offers some sightseeing options, being just walking distance from the White House and the State Department as well as some really great nightlife.
There aren't a lot of upgrades here, to be sure, but they make up for it. For example, there's no fitness center but if you really need one, they have an agreement with another facility and can get you in somewhere just down the street. There's also a complementary breakfast which, when I'm traveling, is the meal I least want to have to think about.
On a budget, this really isn't a bad place to land.

This was a great location to see all of DC. The staff was great, the hotel was great, the breakfasts were great and had a great opportunity to get added info from other guests. You could catch the metro right up the street, and the neighborhood is comfortable, even at night. They just need to find a better parking arrangement.
