Of the chain hotels that are near I-5, the expo center, and the airport, this one has the most modern rooms. They have nice lighting, and the soap, shampoo, and conditioner come from dispensers in the wall which is a nice touch. There are 200 channels on TV, free wifi, and a hot tub outside. The staff are friendly and can probably help you get around, although the hotel is located in a strip mall, so it's not so walkable or scenic. Delta park is near by so you could go watch a little soccer or walk to the Colombia river, but this area is really set up for cars. The entrance is by the guitar center, not Burger King.Recommended for:

I'm not super into big chain hotels in bland, semi-industrial parts of town, but if I were, I'd absolutely adore this place. I reckon most people who stay here do so because of its close proximity to the Oregon Convention Center, and it's certainly one of the better options in that area. The rooms are spacious and quiet, the WiFi is free, and hot breakfast is included in the room rates. Rooms are currently undergoing renovation, but they don't seem to really need it. The coolest thing about this hotel is that they have a large, outdoor jacuzzi (it's the size of a small pool), and that's why I'm giving it four stars instead of a measly three.Recommended for:

Located just off Hayden Meadows shopping complex (where a new Walmart is about to open), the Best Western is a modern mixed, but predominantly business hotel.
The hotel is within easy reach of downtown Portland, the Portland International race track, the Hayden Island/Jantzen Beach area, and across the river, Vancouver, Washington.
Although the hotel looks rather large and uninteresting from the outside, inside the lobby is modern in a minimalist style that gives it a feeling of clean efficiency without looking too much like an office lobby!
The rooms are cut in the same style, but with greater softening comfort both in the lighting, color scheme, and choice of art. The beds look especially appealing!
Rates include a full breakfast, wifi, a business center, and an outside spa.
The staff are friendly, professional, and show pride in their product, one of the indicators of a well run hotel.
I would definitely choose this hotel for a long term business stay!Recommended for:

Up near the Portland Meadows racetrack near the bridge to Vancouver, WA, this chain hotel for budget-conscious travelers has a lot of little extras and mod design touches in the lobby that make it comfy. Even the hot breakfast items are above average, with real
eggs and DIY waffles. The rooms are huge, and so are the bathrooms. Even the beds have soft comforters that are covered in clean sheets, not those nasty and scratchy flowered comforters that you might expect at a BW. The front desk staff were helpful and the price was very reasonable. It's about a 15-minute drive from downtown Portland or you can hop on the light rail line to avoid paying for parking downtown.Recommended for:

Won this hotel on Priceline while searching for hotels in the Jantzen Beach area. It was a good deal. $104 for 2 nights.
Location is in North Portland. It is near the Oregon-Washington border. Exit 306B which is the one for Portland International Raceway. Plenty of parking. Shouldn't have a problem finding a space. The Delta MAX station is about 2 blocks away, so it easy to get to downtown Portland. The area around the hotel is commercial, so it seems relatively safe. Still exercise caution if taking the MAX at night as the stops before this one are a bit sketchy.
I was staying here with my parents. Since there was 3 of us, there was an additional $10 plus hotel taxes charge per night for the additional person since the Priceline reservation is good for 2 people. Be aware of this charge if bidding for this hotel.
Hotel interior is a little worn and I detected a musty smell. The room was quite nice. It has good amenities like a fridge, free Wi-Fi and DirectTV cable service. The toiletries like soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided in dispensers in the shower. Though the hotel does provide a bar of soap for you to use to wash in the sink.
There is a free hotel breakfast daily from 6-9 am. Hot foods like eggs, sausage and cheese quesadillas are served. There is also an instant pancake maker. Continental breakfast items like muffins, fruit and yogurt are also available.
This Best Western is a solid budget hotel. It is a little outside downtown Portland, but just a short drive or MAX ride away.Recommended for:
