Not far from the hubbub of Palm Springs is this desert oasis -- literally. There is absolutely gorgeous hiking through rich desert botanical scenery -- palm trees, dozens of different types of cactus, desert birds, wildflowers in the spring, etc. I came here in February one year and it was 80 degrees, perfect for hiking.
