San Luis Obispo County Farmers' Market

0.08 mi from Big Sky Cafe
    12 reviews

A lively evening farmer's market spanning 5 blocks long in the heart of downtown SLO. Bring cash for vendors and a reusable eco bag for buying fresh produce. BBQ stands stood out to be the food to buy with long lines 20-30 people deep.

    Old Mission San Luis Obispo

0.17 mi from Big Sky Cafe
    8 reviews

I love history and think the Mission is cool. Those less interested in the history of the California Missions might enjoy Mission Plaza on Friday nights during the summer. Live bands. Dancing. Leave your judgements at home and enjoy some free-spirited fun. In the shadow of history.

    Palm Theatre

0.21 mi from Big Sky Cafe
    4 reviews

The first fully solar-powered cinema built in the USA, the Palm Theatre is a grovvy little arthouse cinema in downtown San Luis Obispo. Ground-breaking documentaries, film-festival indie flicks and foreign films are all regularly on the marquee right here, on the same block as SLO's tiny historical Chinatown district, within earshot of the Spanish colonial mission bells.

First of all, we found an Australian candy bar here that my friend loves and hasn't been able to find in the US anymore. Second, what a fantastic selection of sodas! We couldn't help but get a 6 pack. Had some great ones (Sprecher Puma Kola especially) and some interesting ones (Brownie Cookie Dough soda, Prickly Pear). Awesome!

Are you a beer person and love listening to live bands? Well, this would be the place for you. Many people come here to just hang out and chill. Most band nights, there's a $2 charge, however, not sure if that's every time there's a band there. I find this place a bit of a hipster and 'i just want ...

Like to dance and want a LA club feeling without needing to dress up? Well, the library seems to have that vibe! The library is located in downtown SLO. Mostly college kids and now mixed with adults in their 30s, which I was surprised. Drinks are inexpensive and music wasn't too shabby. You will have some random mix and EDM ...

Handmade spice blends, medicinal and herbal teas, incense, and leafy green plants greet you as you step through the wooden gate by the stream into this locally owned feel-good shop. The owner is so sweet, and she's ready to recommend a brew for whatever ails you. My favorite is the vanilla beans for $3 each. Yum!

This place used to be called something else, but I guess they changed the name and probably the owner because what I remembered was that they used to have beer pong tables upstairs and dance floor downstairs. Glad it changed since people don't have to stumble upon themselves when they had a little too much to drink. SLO Brewing Co ...

Finally, there's an upscale place to imbibe in downtown SLO. This gorgeous, wide-open wine bar not only has a killer list of regional wines from Paso Robles, SLO's Edna Valley and Santa Barbara's wine country and beyond, but the huge picture windows are left open to the street on sunny days and cool evenings. Ask about the wine flights, which ...

Wait, this place is on a side street behind Trader Joe's? It's not actually in the Edna Valley among all the lovely vineyards? Don't let the industrial park setting fool you.
