Cool restaurant on the main strip in Hayward. Kind of hip, urban decor. Food is nicely presented and tasty, though didn't blow me away. We came on a Sunday, but felt like a Saturday night kind of place.Recommended for:

On a warm summer night, Bijou is off the hook! Met up with a few friends here for dinner. The dimly lit venue with its chain link metal curtain made me feel like I was in Vegas. To start things off, we ordered the crepe Parisian, which contained ham and Gruyere cheese. The green onion "tie" around it made it even better. We also put in an order of regular and sweet potato fries (or Bijou frites as on the menu). The samurai aioli that came with it had a good kick. I think there might have been jalapeño in it. From another friend's recommendation, I got the chicken lollipops. All I can say is wow! After alternating between them and the fries, I was pretty content. Our waiter Frank gave awesome drink recommendations. Their sangria contained juice that they hand press on site, and their raspberry cooler was crazy good. I'll have to double up on those next time. And yes, there will be a next time. If we stayed a little longer, we might have gotten a taste of their night life, but we left as the DJ was about to start setting up. I give everyone the green light on trying this place out. It's not very often that I give places 5 stars, but this place is totally worth it.Recommended for:
