The largest privately owned estate in the country, this French Chateau is more fun to tour than the palaces of Europe. Take the headset tour - about 45 minutes long; concise and informative. The grounds of the estate were designed by Frederick Law Olmstead - the best landscape architect, so allow plenty of time to drive them slowly and explore. Great restaurants on the estate and the candle-light tour over the holidays is unforgettable.

The Biltmore Estate is impressive in its size and decadence. It's reminiscent of a European manor. My favorite part of the tour was to see the bowling alley. The rose garden by the Biltmore is nice too.Recommended for

America's largest estate... French Chateau style... one of the top attractions in the area, drawing people from all over the world! A 10 minute drive from your room. We are in process of acquiring a family pass to have access to grounds and estate.

A 250-room French chateau built by George Vanderbilt in 1895. Tour the house, gardens and winery. Open daily except Thanksgiving & Christmas. Just off Interstate 40 at 50B, Asheville. You will absolutely be amazed what a fine life the Vanderbilt's had back in 1895 - I was blown away when I saw their indoor swimming pool !
