A beautiful area at the end of Kaanapali Beach.
Right next to the Sheraton Maui is where Black Rock is located. There is entertainment and diving but *be warned* tons of tourists.

You've got to be a strong swimmer willing to brave the currents to get out to the snorkeling spot at the very top of Black Rock, off Kaanapali's resort beach. Otherwise, the best reason to come up here is around sunset to see the touristy, but still photogenic torch-lighting and cliff-diving ceremony sponsored by the Sheraton. It's hokey, admittedly. But if you've got a mai tai in your hand and you're watching the show, it feels like a very Brady Bunch Hawaiian vacation moment.

Really nice soft sand beach in front of the Sheraton Hotel, which is also one of the best snorkeling spots in Maui. Tons of people in the water, mind you, but for a reason. Lots of sea turtles, rays, and other cool things. If you are brave, you can also do cliff jumping from the top of the rocks.

Beautiful soft sandy beach, 3 miles long. Gentle access to the water, easy wading. Nice snorkeling along the lava ledge that juts out towards Molokai. Good chance at seeing turtles and eagle rays, in addition to the tropical reef fish. If you are brave, take the 25 ft leap from the top of the lava ledge into the crystalline blue waters below. Beware though, the climb out is dicey.

Great beach for catching some rays, snorkeling and the best part - cliff diving! For a thrill, climb up Black Rock if you dare (well, it's scary climbing up and standing on the edge of the 30+ ft rock, but so fun jumping off) and make a big splash into the ocean. Park at Whaler's Village and get 3 hours free with validation at participating shops/restaurants.
