The Blanton Museum of Art, located on the south side of the University of Texas campus, is a notable leader of the local art community, with striking collections of contemporary and traditional exhibits. But make sure and visit on a Thursday, when admission is free and special tours and events, like free yoga classes are offered. The museum's cafe, located just across the courtyard from the museum's main entrance, also has a small menu of affordable food and drinks, including beer and wine.Recommended for:

The Blanton Museum of Art is at the top as far as most visited and best liked attractions in the surprisingly vibrant city of Austin, Texas. Operated under the authority of the University of Texas at Austin, the expansive halls of this gallery contain a huge number of priceless works of art, with fresh exhibitions arriving regularly. American, South American, and European art is particularly focused upon here. If you wish to see the entire collection, you'll be happy to find a cafe where you can recharge yourself along the way. Otherwise, consider joining up with a guide who will cater your experience around your artistic interests, because it'll take a while to see every piece.
