I’ve had the pleasure to be a guest at the Polynesian Cultural Center recently to visit the latest experience, Hawai’ian Journey - an interactive theater presentation. Hawai’ian Journey is a beautiful cinematic experience of the Hawai’ian people’s connection to the sacred ‘aina (land) and their beloved ancestors. Projected on one of the largest screens in Hawai’i, it transports the guest through beautiful “majestic mountains, roaring waterfalls, lush forests and imposing volcanoes”, some areas only accessible by air. You’ll be moved, literally, as the chairs sway while you’re flying up the palis (cliffs), sprayed with a light mist of water as you’re passing the waterfalls, and puffed with a fragrant floral scent as you pass the lush valleys. The Hawai’ian Journey shares a deeper understanding of the Hawai’ian island, culture, and people. To love Hawai’i is the know the history, learn from the past, and have respect for it in your heart.
The Polynesian Cultural Center is a full day of fun cultural activities and entertainment. With 42 acres, 8 villages, tours, canoe rides, presentations, activities, entertainment, delicious dinner buffets, and an amazing HA: Breath of Life Show, you will know why it is voted top things to do on O’ahu.
