Great hotel and location. Easy walking distance from the major sights but the neighborhood is far more interesting than the CBD. The hotel is modern, relaxed, and just the right mix of urban and seaside.

Probably my favourite hotel in Sydney overall, winning top marks for its awesome location in a rehabbed heritage warehouse on the waterfront, midway between the Royal Botanic Gardens and the leafy heights of Potts Point. While the decor in the rooms is a bit understated for my taste, they ARE certainly posh, comfortable, and well-appointed, with windows that open out over the harbour. Staff are invariably helpful and friendly, and the excellent WaterBar occupying the cathedral-like center of the hotel is a fabulous place for a drink, even with the eye-watering prices. Best of all, the feel of this place is luxe without ever seeming snooty -- an accomplishment amongst Sydney's sometimes uptight luxury hotel field.Recommended for:

Rooms are on the small side but really well thought out and decorated, the Blue bar is a great spot for cocktails or a private function. Great location on the wharf and within walking distance of Botanical Gardens, Darlinghurst and Kings Cross.

When is a Taj hotel not a Taj hotel? When it’s situated on a wharf on Sydney Harbour. Think Taj hotels in their native India and you think opulence, extravagance and palaces. Blue Sydney on the other hand, is suave, chic and minimalist. The architecture – formerly an industrial facility - is an attraction in itself, not to mention the ‘open-air’ Water bar and lounge spaces. Despite its enormous skeleton, there are only 100 rooms, which makes for a more boutique experience. Some are split-level and very on-trend and others have a more traditional layout but good for families. If you’re a creative type then you’ll admire the funky art and geometric shapes, which constitute the walls and ceilings. There’s no on-site restaurant, however, plenty of choice is outside along the wharf. There is a pool and gym but both are quite small, which is surprising given the amount of space this hotel has. Wi-fi in the bedrooms is $15 per device per day but free in the bar. The perfect excuse for a cocktail…I think so?!Recommended for:

The Blue Hotel is located right on the harbor at Woolloomooloo - you get ocean views from almost every room. Its a Taj Hotel, so is nicely styled and has a cool bar in the central lobby with amazingly high ceilings. It is an easy walk to almost anywhere, but I felt the location felt a bit isolated - not much around unless you walk 10-15 mins.
This five-storey hotel was built on a finger wharf over Woolloomooloo. BLUE Sydney is part of a large redevelopment that incorporates elements of the original circa-1915 wharf to
