Nice big rooms, with plenty of blankets which is great on a cold La Paz night. Located pretty centrally to most of the sites. Staff was friendly, and I came away with a positive experience even if it was only for a night or two

Really pretty area. You can go on hikes to see condors from here. It is rustic and rural though so bring anything you need, and also note the roads go out when it rains a lot.

Don Roman is an entrepreneurial guy who has been collecting artifacts in the region ofr years. He has preserved them in a little musuem in Quila Quila, and has also built a second story on his house so he can host guests. There are a couple simple beds in it, and there is a latrine out the back. His wife ...

Very nice hostel a couple blocks from the main plaza. It has a very charming interior patio with hammocks. It is a pleasant place to stay, and the service is very friendly. It is more of a hostel then a hotel, but it gets my vote as my favorite place to stay in San Jose

Very nice eco-resort between San Ramon and San Javier. You can rent private cabins, which are located in a lovely hilly and green countryside. They also have a private golf course if you are into that

This hotel is one of the nicest hotels in the chiquitania, and it has the honor of being the official residence of the bishop of San Ignacio. It is a fairly new hotel (about 15 years old), but was designed to replicate the traditional Spanish colonial style. It has tv with cable, which is pretty unusual in the chiquitania, and ...

Every Sunday they do an all you can eat lunch which is spectacular. It is served by the pool so you can enjoy your day there, and they have fresh seafood, grill and a grand salad bar. Even if you do not stay here, show up for the Sunday feast.

A quality restaurant inside, friendly staff, and a good location for shopping and walking around. Quite a puff up from the prado though, and for the travelers looking to spend a little more money than the hostels and economical hotels in the area.

One of the more modern hostels in the city, and definitely one of the most social. Good place to meet other travelers, have some beers, and enjoy the views of the city.

Great location and friendly staff. The building is in the colonial style. The rooms are basic and bare-bones, but they are clean. It is also cheap. It is a good option for the budget traveler

Basic hostel located in the very center of Sucre. It is cheap, clean, and has a very nice courtyard in the middle. It is bare bones, but if you want a safe place to sleep and not much else it is a good option

Technically it is a 5-star hotel, and after rennovations it may actually deserve the 5-star ranking. However, when I stayed it was more like a 3.5-4 star hotel. The location a couple blocks from the main plaza is fantastic, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. However, if you are actually looking for a 5-star hotel experience I would recommend ...

Great location, service and rooms. This place is one of the nicest places to stay in town. Located in a beautifully restored colonial building with a great roof deck for sunset. The staff here is also very helpful and friendly.

Fairly nice hotel, with a more utilitarian feel to it. It is more of a business conference/meeting type of place. The location is in the center, but in an area that can be a little shady at night. Unless you are attending a conference at the hotel I would recommend checking out the Cortez instead.
