When in Sydney, the word "free" becomes gold. Try this on for size: spend an afternoon taking the gorgeous coastal hike from golden Bondi Beach to the more secluded Bronte Beach. You'll be intoxicated by the Australian sunshine, impossibly blue ocean, and dramatic cliffs that plunge into the crashing waves. There are also plenty of rest stops, little beaches, and picnic areas - so you can spread the journey out as long as you want.

Too many visitors confine their coastal visits in Sydney to Bondi alone. More's the pity, because the roughly 6km walk south from the city's blockbuster surfing beach to the suburban coast at Coogee gives an overview of what's best in sun-and-sand, with glimpses of what the locals love apart from all the tourist glitz. The roughly two-hour walk (though you could easily make it a whole day if you want to stop and swim or explore along the way) takes in a gorgeous varied coastline, from Bondi's broad crescent to Bronte's twin bays to the rocky headlands and snorkelling hotspots at Clovelly. This hike highlights the natural best of the city, and should be considered a must for anyone wanting to understand why this is one of the globe's most beautiful urban areas.Recommended for:Outdoor Enthusiasts

The view never changes, but that's only because it's amazing. This is a set of great cliff walks that cross the eastern coast. Arguably you can start here and walk all the way down the coast. Hold onto your hats though because it can get a bit windy on some of the cliffs.
Bring lots of sunblock in the summer (December).

A iconic Sydney walk. Easy going, pretty flat, paved, and only about 2-3 kms long, it is suitable for all. You can start at either Bondi or Bronte beaches, and walk along the coast along the cliff, and over the crashing waves. Stop in Tamarama for a swim, or Iceburgs right ofter Bondi, and spend the rest of the day at one or both of the amazing beaches on either end of this excursion.

This walk is fantastic. Not terribly athletic (but you can run if you want more exercise). One side, you've got beautiful cliffs, the other side, crashing waves of blue-green water. I would start on the Bondi end and work your way to Bronte, have some fish and chips, and then walk em off on your way back! The ART WALK happens once a year for about a month in the summer. There are sculptures all the way along.
