August finds Boracay some weeks prior to the beginning of the peak tourism season (approximately September/October - May/June) and, as such, it was quiet and relaxed. That said, perfect weather was not a guarantee and we did experience some cloud and a little rain during our week-long stay. We stayed at a reasonably priced, small hotel on the famous White Beach, a truly stunning beach incidentally but, again, our experience was of few tourists. Local leisure activity operators will approach you and actively hassle you to ride jet skis, go paragliding, or take a boat trip with snorkeling involved. All of these seemed affordable and satisfying, the boat trip in particular being a wonderful experience. Boracay was in the middle of rapid development at the time of the visit (2007) and reports from friends tell me it's gotten somewhat more built-up since then.

I loved Boracay I just wished I had more time there. We were there for a wedding last week and it was wonderful. The best time to go is January to April becuase the weather is perfect! But July is the worst becuause of the weather and it gets too windy there. For a nice relaxing vacation spend a week on Boracay... shop at the d'mall, do some water activities, island hop, get a massage on the beach for $7US, and most important relax on one of the many beaches. It is very easy to get around either waking between stations or taking a motorbike. Also, many people speak English so it is very easy to communicate with them.

Hit the spot when I was about 15 years old. That's roughly 6 years from today, date July 6, 2012. Its good to hit the spot when its sunny, so schedule is a must consideration. I went there sometime in February, and though yes it has that fine white beach, it was full of seaweeds then because it was rainy that time. Wasn't able to explore it so much. I just stayed in Station 3. However, There were a lot of people there, and there was a tiangge too and of course, various restaurants around. They told me nightlife is different in Bora. It wouldn't be so bad to give it a try the next time I visit the island.
According to a friend who went there last year, there were already a lot of koreans out there, making you think if you are on a Philippine island or otherwise. Celebrities make it a point to go there, why dont you check it for yourself. :))

Boracay Island is a small island getaway that is easily accessible from Manila - a 1hr flight, then a short boat trip.

Boasting beautiful white sand beaches and unbelievably clear water, Boracay is a really wonderful spot to spend a beach holiday if you're looking for a good mix of beautiful scenery, buzzing nightlife, a great selection of restaurants and shopping, and a wide range of activities. It does feel a bit overcrowded at times, so avoid Boracay if you're looking for peace and quiet.

Boracay has amazing white beaches but a little touristy for my liking. Station 1 and 2 are the best places to stay. Station 1 being more expensive and Station 2 is where the party is at!! Not a lot to do in Boracay, other than relax and drink cocktails, definitely not a bad way to spend time on your holiday

What more can I say? Powdery white sands, beautiful island, clear waters, happy people, great food. Best for water sports especially snorkling. Parasailing at sunset. Swimming all day and all night too. One of the Top Beaches in the world!

Boracay is really lovely. Definitely on the beaten path for the Philippines and can get crowded; however, the beaches are long, the waters are gorgeous and there are plenty of activities / infrastructure. Has much more of a local feel than Cebu but not quite as rustic / secluded as islands near Palawan.

Boracay has been hailed recently as the World's Best Island by Travel and Leisure magazine. It is a small island off the coast of Panay island in the town of Malay, Aklan. However, looks can be deceiving. It may be small but the performance definitely make up for its small size..lol! Day time in boracay is filled with activities that are way beyond what one can handle. There's the usual sunbathing, strolling, jet ski, parasailing, snorkeling, ziplining and the more unusual yet more exciting reef walking, paraw sailing, zorbing, flying fish and cliff diving. Most of the activities happen along White Beach, with an excemption to Kite Boarding that takes place at the Bulabog beach on the opposite side of the island. At night, the entire island transforms itself into a huge party venue, fulfilling everyone's night life desire to either wine, dine, lounge, chill and party like a rock star!

This place has been one of my frustration. I've been to many places (been to some places twice) but not Boracay. It seemed like an unreachable dream. Last week I got a chance to visit the place. It was a long trip from Kalibo. We arrived almost sunset. We stayed at Red Coconut Garden View which is a few steps away from their famous White Beach. White beach is breath taking, very picturesque. It has three sections called Station 1-3. Station 1 has a powdery white sand beach (I'd personally compare it to powdered milk). The best I've ever seen so far. The famous Willy's Rock is in this station. Resorts in this are are more expensive. If you want peace this is the place to be. Station 2 is at the center of White Beach, where most of the action happens. Compared to Station 1, you will find it more crowded. The infamous D'Mall is here. If you want to be near everything choose a resort in this area. Station 3 is the nearest to Aklan Is. As crowded as Station 2, it has a shorter shoreline. It doesn't have much difference with Station 2 but if you're planning to go to Station 1 this is not the place to be. There are a range of activities to choose from; island hopping, sunset watching on a boat, scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, kite surfing, jet skiing, parasailing, cliff diving, fishing, Banana boat riding and Glass bottom boat cruise. When done, satisfy your hunger at any restaurants. You can find different cuisines like Indian, Greek, Italian and others. Try eating by the beach during sunset or a buffet breakfast at any resort. This is one of the best beaches I've been to. I just hope people will take care of it. I can't wait to mesmerized again by its beauty.

Amazingly soft, fine, white sand. Great weather. Not a water sports destination -- more of a place to unwind and relax with coconut shakes and pina colodas

Boracay Island is one of the most visited island in the Philippines. Most tourist call it a paradise island. You have a lot of adventures while in this small island. You can do water sports like island hoping, banana boat ride, kiteboarding and a lot more. There's also a lot of resorts and hotels where you can stay and aside from water sports you canalso try the Zorb ball and zipline, or have a view of the whole island at Mt.Luho.

Description

Boracay Island, in the center of the Philippine archipelago, is a white-sanded island that rivals the best Pacific beaches. White Beach is where most hotels and resorts are located, and is also the biggest tourist attraction, offering all the Caribbean delights from lounging on a beach chair to diving and snorkeling. Hotels along Bulabog Beach will get you closer to wind and kite-surfing ... read more
opportunities however. Flights to Boracay leave from Manila, but once on the island the transport is either a shared pedicab, rented motorcycle or bike, or hotel shuttle, helping to create a sense of relaxation far away from the bustle of traffic jams. With plenty of bakeries and international restaurants, Boracay deserves a more prominent place on the list of island paradises, although perhaps it's better kept as a bit of a secret.
